Haig Pinch
Scotch Whisky
Haig whisky is steeped in history since it was first distilled by John Haig in the old Cameronbridge Distillery Scotland in 1824. From these humble beginnings, Haig Whisky quickly rose to become one of the most successful and popular Scotch whiskies in the world before falling into decline some 30 years ago as it left the Haig family ownership and was passed through a series of multinational drinks companies.
The distillery meanwhile went from strength to strength and now in the ownership of Diageo is one of the largest distilleries in Europe.
Haig Dimple Pinch is the US version of Haig Dimple , also named after the unique shape of the bottle. Haig Pinch and Dimple are the upmarket brothers of Haig Gold blended whisky but with an age statement of 15 years and a heavier malt influence of whiskies from Glenkinchie and Linkwood. Haig Pinch was a Haig Whisky product for the American market and was bottled at the slightly higher strength of 43% ABV.

- Finish: Short Earthy finish with strong hints of peat, burnt caramel and a touch of sea salt.
Stuart Says
Haig Dimple Pinch Whisky is like a British gangster from the 60’s. If it was a car, it would be an old 1960’s Jaguar! Smooth and sophisticated with rough edges never too far from the surface to keep you on your toes. It’s Sean Connery or Daniel Craig in an Armani suit. If Diageo do what I think they’ll do, it could also become David Beckham’s next whisky? They could decide to reintroduce Dimple Pinch and bring the newly converted Haig Club Drinkers to the next Two Pooka level on their evolving whisky journey. Dimple Pinch is also enjoying a new found cult status after featuring in the American TV series Breaking Bad as the favourite drink of Walter White who orders “Haig Dimple Pinch – Neat!” Did I say British Gangsters?

Stuart Says
Haig Pinch was the rarer and stronger (43%) version of the upmarket Haig Dimple exported from Scotland for the American market. Haig Pinch, like Dimple was named after its distinctive triangular “Pinched” or Dimple” bottle shape which was so unique for its time, that the House of Haig registered the Dimple bottle shape as a trademark. Pinch has now become well known again through the Breaking Bad TV series where it features as the favourite drink of Walt White.
